Proposed house and associated infrastructure on Portion 32 of Farm Misgunst no. 257, near Vleesbaai

HilLand Environmental has been appointed by the applicant, Mr M.C. Lundall, as the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) for the proposed activities on Portion 32 of Farm Misgunt No. 257, Fransmanshoek. The appointment is to ensure compliance with the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as amended, and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014, as amended, as the proposed activities require environmental authorisation.

The application relates to the clearance of vegetation, mapped as Endangered Hartenbos Dune Thicket, to allow for the construction of a primary house and associated infrastructure on the property. The house and associated infrastructure will be fully off-grid. Access will be taken from the servitude track to the south via a narrow driveway that will meander through the existing vegetation to the proposed disturbance zone where the house will be located.

The proposed working area/disturbance zone is approximately 1 500 m² and includes the driveway, parking area, small rehabilitated indigenous garden and house.

The existing tents will be retained, and the rest of the property will remain conserved.
