Proposed Expansion of Dagbreek Eiers

HilLand Environmental have been appointed as the Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAP) by the applicant, JJ van der Schyff & Seun (Pty) Ltd, to ensure compliance with the regulations contained in the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA Act No. 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2014, as amended for the proposed expansion of the already successful chicken egg production facility, Dagbreek Eiers.

The project entails the expansion of the existing 9 chicken houses on a portion of portion 10/432 to include an additional 4 chicken houses on portion 59/440, adjacent to the existing facility. The proposed expansion includes 4 chicken houses with the same dimension as the existing chicken houses and associated infrastructure. The proposed expansion will accommodate an additional 30 000 laying chickens per chicken house (4 chicken houses will house a maximum of 120 000 chickens).
