Maintenance Management Plan (MMP):

HilLand Environmental (Pty) Ltd have been appointed as the Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAP) by the applicant, Prince Albert Municipality, represented by SMEC South Africa, to ensure compliance with regulations contained in the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA Act No. 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations (2014), as amended, for the Maintenance Management Plan for maintenance and management of the structures and infrastructure within the Dorps River for the Prince Abert Municipal infrastructure, Prince Albert.

The proposal is to replace damaged pipeline sections and secure with brackets to the riverbank/bed or road verge, refurbish or replace gabion structures, rehabilitate eroded areas, repair erosion protection structures and reinstate road verge retaining walls. The scope of the works is a permanent solution to the current flood-damaged boreholes, pipeline river crossings and water pipelines and the future maintenance thereof.
