EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT REPORT: PACALTSDORP RESERVOIR AND WATER TOWER, ON THE REMAINDER OF ERF 325, GEORGE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY, WESTERN CAPE
This email serves as notification of a National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) EIA Regulations, 2014 (as amended) Section 34 Environmental Audit Report. The Pacaltsdorp 3 megalitre reinforced concrete reservoir, new 300 kilolitre water supply pump station and associated infrastructure on Erf 325 was granted Environmental Authorisation (EA) on 07/03/2024 (EA Ref. 16/3/3/1/D2/44/0019/23). The civil works have been completed.
The BAR and EMPr were drafted by Zutari (Pty) Ltd. HilLand Environmental was appointed as the Environmental Control Officer (ECO) for the project. The Audit Report had to be prepared by an independent person and contains all the information as required in Section 34 and Appendix 7 of the NEMA EIA Regulations, 2014 (as amended).
The External Environmental Audit Report and associated appendices have been submitted to the Department of Environmental Affairs & Development Planning (DEA&DP) on 19 January 2026.
