George Airport Eastern Precinct Roads Masterplan Upgrade

HilLand Environmental, independent Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAP) have been appointed by the Applicant, George Municipality, to ensure compliance with the regulations contained in the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA, No 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014 for the George Airport Eastern Precinct Roads Masterplan Upgrade.
The project entails the upgrade of the existing R404 in the Airport Precinct and the development of a new municipal service access road to the precinct. The application will involve the provision of traffic circles / signals at the various intersections. Expropriation will be required for the new municipal road and for the widening of the R404 in places.
The George Roads Master planning for the Airport Precinct has been undertaken and this BA process is the result of that process in order to obtain the necessary Environmental Authorisation for the various listed activities.
All registered stakeholders / I&APs are invited to comment on the proposal within the prescribed commenting period from
17 February 2020 – 18 March 2020.
