Proposed Eco-Camp at Timberlake, Portion 6 of Farm 191

HilLand Environmental have been appointed as the Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAP) by the applicant, Cape Farm Store (Pty) Ltd, to ensure compliance with the regulations contained in the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA Act No. 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations or the proposed Eco-Camp on Portion 6 of the Farm 191, Timberlake, George.

 

The development proposal consists of the establishment of an Eco-Camp consisting of ten (10) tented camp sites on temporary timber structures on the property.  The vision of the owners is to add an accommodation element to the existing tourist activities occurring at Timberlake that will complement the existing facilities on the site.

The Eco-Camp will consist of two components:

  • Five (5) dome tents with communal facilities for accommodation on the first ridge;
  • Five (5) luxury tents on the second ridge overlooking the lakes.

 

The Pre-Application Basic Assessment Report will be available for comment from the 30th October 2018 on HilLand Environmental’s website at www.hilland.co.za / current public processes / Timberlake Eco-Camp. Please provide us with your comments/concerns relating to the proposed activity during the time frame (31 October 2018 – 30 November 2018) in written format via post, email or fax.  Please note that you need to declare your interest in the above matter.
