New housing units on Farm 377 and Portion 10 of Farm 255

HilLand Environmental have been appointed as the Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAP) by the applicant, 8 Mile Investments 38 Pty (Ltd), represented by Chris Mostert, to ensure compliance with the regulations contained in the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA Act No. 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2014, as amended, for the consent use for the addition of one (1) residential unit on Farm No. 377 and Portion 10 of Farm No. 255 respectively, near Great Brak River.
The proposal includes the vegetation clearance for the consent use of the addition of one (1) dwelling unit on each of the farms, as the addition of three (3) dwellings is a primary right of an Agricultural Zone 1 property. The dwellings will be located within development zones of approximately 1 600 sqm, which will include associated infrastructure, gardening, firebreaks etc. Additionally, roads leading to the zones will be created and a water reservoir will be added to the northern part of the properties.
The Pre-Application Basic Assessment Report and associated appendices are available for comment from the 28th of February 2020. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Lockdown period, the timeframe for your 30 day comment is extended until hree (3) days after the end of the Lockdown Period (by the 4th May 2020 or as amended should the Lockdown be extended beyond the 30th April 2020). The period from the 27th of March 2020 until the end of the Lockdown Period is therefore excluded from the 30 day comment period on the Pre-Application BAR.
