New housing units on Farm 377 and Portion 10 of Farm 255


HilLand Environmental have been appointed as the Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAP) by the applicant, 8 Mile Investments 38 Pty (Ltd), represented by Chris Mostert, to ensure compliance with the regulations contained in the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA Act No. 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2014, as amended, for the consent use for the addition of one (1) residential unit on Farm No. 377 and Portion 10 of Farm No. 255 respectively, near Great Brak River.

The proposal includes the vegetation clearance for the consent use of the addition of one (1) dwelling unit on each of the farms, as the addition of three (3) dwellings is a primary right of an Agricultural Zone 1 property. The dwellings will be located within development zones of approximately 1 600 sqm, which will include associated infrastructure, gardening, firebreaks etc. Additionally, roads leading to the zones will be created and a water reservoir will be added to the northern part of the properties.

The Pre-Application Basic Assessment Report and associated appendices are available for comment from the 28th of February 2020. You are hereby invited to provide us with your comments/concerns relating to the proposed project within the 30-day commenting period from the 28th of February 2020 – 30 March 2020. Please provide us with your comments / concerns relating to the proposed activity during the timeframe in written format via fax or email.
