Proposed Expansion of Botlierskop Private Game Reserve

 

HilLand Environmental have been appointed as the Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAP) by the applicant, Botlierskop Private Nature Reserve, to ensure compliance with the regulations contained in the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA Act No. 107 of 1998) and the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2014 for the proposed expansion of the resort on Botlierskop Private Nature Reserve (Please see attached Locality Map).

The project entails the expansion of the existing Visitor Centre by 320m², expansion of the Main centre (restaurant, reception area etc.) by 400m², expanding the resort by an additional 14 self catering units each with a maximum footprint of 120m² and converting the existing homestead and cottage into a boutique hotel with the addition of 5 accommodation units.

Service provision for the expansion will be a combined use of water from Mossel Bay Municipality and existing infrastructure that currently serves the resort with minor upgrades as required.

The Draft Basic Assessment Report will be available for comment from the 31st of January 2018. The period for your comments on the Draft BAR closes within 30 days from its availability (31 January 2018 – 02 March 2018).  Please provide us with your comments/concerns relating to the proposed activity during this time frame in written format via post, email or fax.  Please note that you need to declare your interest in the above matter.

In order to ensure that you are registered as an Interested and Affected party, please send your details, motivation of participation and any preliminary inputs to HilLand Environmental.  Please note that only parties who register for the EIA process will be kept updated on the process.
